Pick a Fight

Updated: Sep 20, 2022

Overcome every form of evil as a victorious soldier of Jesus the Anointed One. For every soldier called to active duty must divorce himself from the distractions of this world so that he may fully satisfy the one who chose him.

– 2 Timothy 2:3-6 TPT

When a soldier signs up to serve their country, they are called out of mere civilian life into a position of authority. Their mind is trained for combat as they learn to trust and carry out the orders of their commanding officer. But what would happen if the US army abandoned their orders and spent their time and energy catching shop lifters at the local grocery store? Sounds pretty silly. While the store owner would be grateful, it would be a waste of the country’s resources on a minor crime the police are capable of handling.

Strife is one of the number one strategies the enemy uses to distract believers. He stirs up conflict between people hoping to get folks fighting each other while he moves in, setting up strongholds and causing division. In most cases, conflicts are born out of small disagreements that are insignificant when it comes to winning the war. As believers and victors, we should always be focused on winning in areas God sees as important and helping others to win.

Not every fight is worth picking. As you continue immersing yourself in the Word of God, it will become clearer which fights are worth your time and energy. The next time you encounter conflict, remember that you are a soldier following the Word of God and that those who stand next to you are fighting the same war against the enemy. Stand and fight together with the mighty Spirit weapons God gave you and watch the strongholds fall!

Believer, you overcome every form of evil as a victorious soldier of Jesus the Anointed One! Stand firm and pick a fight that matters!

DECLARE THE WORD:

Thank you Father for calling me to be a soldier in your army. I take my stand as your servant, ready to fight the darkness at every turn knowing that the people I encounter are not my enemy. I refuse to be distracted by strife and tied up in the affairs of civilian life. I trust that the Word of my Commanding Officer is mighty in pulling down strongholds! I overcome every form of evil as a victorious soldier of Jesus the anointed One!
